Amolops chaochin, commonly named the Chaochin’s torrent frog, is mainly distributed in mountainous regions at the edge of the Sichuan Basin, including Chengdu Cit, Leshan City, Mianyan City and Ya’an City. It is also distributed in Guizhou and Gansu. The specific epithet “chaochin” is named after Prof. Ch’eng-Chao Liu (1900–1976) and his wife Prof. Shu-Chin Hu (1914–1992), combining the last words of their given names “Chao” and “Chin”, as a tribute to their significant contributions to Chinese herpetology. This frog was drawn by Hanwen KANG and Timan YANG.
