Trimeresurus medoensis, commonly named the Motuo bamboo pitviper, is a venomous pitviper species endemic to China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, Burma, and India. It has a large triangular-shaped head, a thin neck, and a short tail. The top of its head is covered with small scales. Its dorsal surface is grass green with a white central stripe on the outermost back scales. The white lateral strip appears starting from the neck area, and generally there is a red strip within the white lateral strip. The ventral surface is light yellow green, and the tail is burnt red in color. This snake was drawn by Hanwen KANG and Timan YANG.
