Computer simulations of the dynamical processes

Abstract

Starting from the most fundamental principles in physics, computer simulations of the dynamical processes aim to unravelthe elementary details of the dynamical processes happening in complex systems such as condensed matter. Besides helping us to understand the microscopic details of the dynamical properties observed in experiments, computer simulations of the dynamical processes can also facilitate material design. In this paper, we briefly review the current status of this field, and comment on its new opportunities and challenges. We hope this perspective can provide some guidance for the applications of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in this field, set under the application code of “computational physics".
